Sanjay Gupta

Sanjay Gupta is the Chief Architect of Shared Services Forum (SSF) India. He has over 3 decades of work experience in the fields of Shared Services operations, Business Process Management (BPM), Finance and Human Resources, having been part of EXL Service Holdings, American Express, Indian Oil Corporation and Living Media. As a Governing Council Member of SSF since 2013, he has played a pivotal role in architecting knowledge dissemination at SSF, the industry platform for Global Business Services (GBS) ‘for the practitioners, by the practitioners’ bringing together the GBS & SSC leaders in India to adopt global best practices in BPM to suit Indian context.

In his previous role, he was the Global HR Head for EXL Service Holdings. He comes with a blend of experience in global and domestic corporations, in private sector and public sector organizations in various capacities, strategic as well as operations roles, covering various domains in Offshoring, Financial Services, Insurance, Oil & Energy and Media.

Sanjay is a Chartered Accountant and started his career with Living Media and Indian Oil Corporation, serving in many functional roles in Vendor & Receivable Management, Balance Sheet Consolidation, Oil Pool Accounting and Inter-company settlements. During the initial 10+ years, Sanjay worked in the core Finance & Accounting functions in domestic companies and then was part of the initial setting up of the off shore centre at American Express. At the global Financial Resource Centre (FRC), he first migrated and then serviced several groups of international financial operations covering both card and travel accounting, with service deliverables to several countries across the globe.

Sanjay has extensive experience in multiple sectors and multiple domains and has been part of several start-up operations in off-shore Captive Centres and BPO Companies with demonstrated execution and success. Sanjay is an avid reader and writer of articles and is the Editor at SSF for the Journal ‘Process Edge’. He has co-authored BPM Books and Research Reports at SSF and is passionate to translate industry knowledge, management expertise and experience into frameworks and models for the benefit of the GBS practitioners. He is an excellent moderator and a speaker at every event of SSF.
